All airports in Vietnam are run by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam part of the Ministry of Transport. There are three main International Airports in Vietnam serving the three main areas of the country. The company headquarters is located in Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the largest and busiest airport of Vietnam. Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) in Hanoi and Da Nang International Airport (DAD) in Da Nang are other important airports.

As of February 1, 2017, Vietnam has introduced e-visa (single entry) for a stay up to 30 days. With this e-visa visitors can arrive at these international airport in Vietnam: Noi Bai (Hanoi), Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh City), Da Nang, Can Tho, Phu Bai, Phu Quoc, Cat Bi, Cam Ranh. If travelers are going to Vietnam with the visa approval letter, they will receive a visa at the international arrival airport.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport


Tan Son Nhat International Airport situated in Ho Chi Minh City is Vietnam’s largest international airport.
Following the opening of its new international terminal in September 2007, Tan Son Nhat has two major terminal buildings with separate sections for international and domestic flights. The capacity of the new terminal, once fully completed, will be 8 million passengers per annum. When Long Thanh International Airport is completed, Tan Son Nhat will serve domestic passengers only.

Noi Bai International Airport


Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is the largest airport in the north of the country. The airport is located 28 miles (45 km) from the city’s downtown.

Da Nang International Airport


Da Nang International Airport is located in Da Nang, the largest city in central Vietnam. It is the third international airport in the country, besides Noi Bai International Airport and Tan Son Nhat International Airport, and is an important gateway to access central Vietnam.
It is estimated that it serves 6 million travellers in 2016, which would be the upper limit of the terminals capacity so an expansion of the new terminal is currently considered to increase its capacity to 10 million passengers per annum by 2020.

Nha Trang Airport
Nha Trang Airport (Cam Ranh) is located on the South China Sea shore south of Nha Trang near the town of Cam Ranh. In December, 2009 Cam Ranh International Airport was opened and it now handles all domestic and international flights to Nha Trang.

Phu Quoc International Airport
Airports Corporation of Vietnam began construction of the airport on 23 November 2008 and after five years work the airport operated its inaugural flight on 15 December 2012. The airport has a single 3000m runway, capable of handling aircraft like the Airbus A350 and Boeing 747.

Long Thanh International Airport
Long Thanh International Airport is an airport planned for construction in Long Thanh, southern Vietnam. Located approximately 40 km (25 mi) northeast of Ho Chi Minh City, it is intended to become operational by 2020. It will serve over 100 million passengers annually when built to the maximum designed capacity.
